Lawsuit Against Apple for Macbook Pro Charging Problems
There is a pending Class Action lawsuit against Apple for allegedly providing inadequate power supplies to charge and use 2011 Macbook Pros (Tomek v Apple, FCS038512). See my earlier post for additional coverage of the actual issue, or click the link below for the full lawsuit. The plaintiff seeks unspecified damages and appropriate restitution for the class, as deemed by the court.

*Update* As is par for the course in Apple’s legal strategy, Apple has filed a Motion to Dismiss. Alex Tomek and his lawyer(s) have requested (and received) a continuance, delaying the hearing for the Motion to Dismiss until 2:00PM on February 23rd, 2012.

I have the not charging under load bug in my Late 2011 MBP
Experiencing same issue while streaming Netflix, using Firefox.
Apple turned from a PRO to a CRAP!!!
Full support for Tomek!!!!
Having the same issue with late 2011 17″ MBP. I hope Apple will ultimately provide us with more powerful chargers! I’m not even streaming video. I noticed this today when I was downloading some large files with Firefox….
I have the exact same issue. Usually, even if it switches to charging status the number is absurd, often over 20 hours to charge from 20-30% battery status.
I wish these gentlemen luck as they battle it out for us against one of the best (and most expensive) legal teams in the world. Hopefully, the judge assigned to this case will see through to the truth of the matter and be in favor of the people and fix this injustice.
Same issue, summer of 2011 MBP 15″, streaming Netflix, etc. It’s not horrible (I charge my laptop overnight) but it’s pretty darn annoying. New chargers please.
go Tomek
